Do you remember back in March when we presented a special racing wheelchair to Travis, a junior at Sun Prairie High School? Well we have great news! This past weekend, he competed in the WIAA Track & Field State Championships in LaCrosse!
Travis wrote to Variety in January hoping that we could help him by purchasing a customized racing wheelchair for his track meets. His goal was to make it to state this year – and we’re so proud of his accomplishments!
Travis is a sophomore at Sun Prairie High School. He maintains a 3.4 grade point average and competes on the school track team. Last year, he was the only athlete with disabilities that did not use a racing wheelchair in competition.
Variety was more than happy to help make Travis’ dreams come true! You can check out full the results from the meet by clicking here.Travis will be the guest of honor at the 35th Annual Ben Marcus Memorial Variety Golf Classic on Monday, July 16th at Grand Geneva Resort & Spa.
